Character vs conflict

It’s been my experience that leadership is always tested in conflict. The true character of someone is present when conflict arises. And often times I see individuals with high character learning the most valuable lessons during the conflict.

It would be to your advantage as a leader to see who handles conflict with class and high character and ask that person what they learned. If you find they have learned value through the conflict, then it would be to your advantage to elevate them in your organization as fast as possible.

“They may not be ready” is the natural response to this. And that’s true… but neither were you until you sat in the chair. They may need a learning curve to explore and grow in the areas that you are elevating them to, but what they have naturally, you really cannot teach organizationally.

I’ll see you out there and I’m in your corner!
