Leaders lead… all of the time.

I want, so badly, to fight my own battles. I want to take my own fight into my own hands when someone says something about me or someone misinterpreted an action or an observation and made my intent to be malicious or not for the team. I want to fight the battle.

But…

I believe that God is sovereign. What I mean by that is that I believe he is in control. Because of that belief I have lives by two statements majority of my adult life:

1. Leaders lead, all of the time. This phrase is catching on in my circles. What this means is that there is never a time, good or bad, where leadership is not needed and necessary. If you’re a leader, you will still need to lead through the bad times… aka… not fighting your own battles because someone said something or did something they didn’t know would hurt you so much.

2. Character always wins the day. I’ve loved and clinger to this one a lot. Your character, and integrity will come out at the end to shine or shadow your leadership. It wins the day. Something I learned in college, is that time + character = influence. Keep your character in check and you will be there, standing strong, at the end of the day.

Leaders lead. All of the time. With everyone in the room. Even when it hurts.

Your character will win the day.
