Great

Great movements call for great leaders. A quote I’ll never forget from seminary. Great movements call for great leaders. So profound.

Do they set the stage for it? Do great moments just beckon leaders from the woodwork as a necessary requirement to make it through. Or are great leaders lying in wait to take their chances on the movement that sparks their passion a little bit extra? It seems to me there’s a mixture of the three.
I may never know why these events stir the hearts of leaders around me, but I do understand one fundamental truth. Great moments need great leaders. And great leaders are becoming few and far between. Great leaders lead out of authenticity. Something that is not well-practiced among leaders today, or anyone for that matter.

Authenticity breeds trust. Trust breeds a get things done excellently culture, and cultures like this breed leaders. Where great movements are, you find great leaders mainly because they have to have them. Great leaders cannot wit dormant when a movement begins. They have to react. They have to challenge. They have to drop with authenticity. It’s in their blood and their nature.

I’ll never forget those words. Great movements call for great leaders. As long as I live. So I’m a little curious, what type of movement calls for your leadership? Decent? Good? Great?

If you’re a leader, focus your attention on great. Focus your attention on becoming a great, authentic leader and you will have people follow you further than you could ever imagine with more passion than you could ever muster on your own. I guarantee it.
