Part two of the discussion on leadership follows what I think is the most important part of leadership. In my eyes, I think the most important concept a leader must grasp if they want to be effective in their leadership is to understand that if you are a leader, you are not necessarily a leader because of anything you have done. I am not saying that you do not have skills of leadership or that those skills are not being honed in on, but you are a leader because other people have placed you in a position of leadership.
You are not a leader because of anything you are doing, you are a leader because you are under the authority of the individuals following you. When Jesus walked the earth, he walked and led as a man under the authority of God. A Centurion in the Bible understood this concept very well as a man under authority.
Leadership is not a game of leading, it is a game of following. Without followers, there cannot be a leader.

Food for thought: Who’s authority are you under? Where would you be with no one following you? Chances are, wherever you would be, you would be alone.
