Men of Winter

I have thought a lot about winter today due to the crazy storm that is still going on in Denver, Co. While I was shoveling, I had a vision, or a dream, about me standing in the middle of the yard. I had a shovel in hand, and all of my snow gear on. I was ready for what the winter could muster. It was an epic pose in my head. Eyebrows with snow flakes as the camera pans away from my stoic look and sees me there, ready, complete, and content.

I thought a little about that vision, and sometimes I feel that way. I feel like I am prepared for anything. Go with me for a minute, if you would not mind. We never know what life is going to throw at us. No one could sit you down and give you an outline of what will be, no one on the Earth anyways. Our job is not to worry about the weather. Our job is to dress up for it. Get prepared, remember the tools you are going to need, leave the ones you will not need behind, and pursue the winter.

There is something within every man who aches for the adventure I am talking about right here. You no doubt have envisioned yourself in that stoic pose. My only thought on that pose, is what are you wearing in your Spiritual life right now? Are you missing boots? Are you missing a jacket? Go there in thought. Are you lacking anything?

Winter is going to come. No matter where you live; winter storms come your way. My question, and thought today really, was simple: am I prepared to take on the winter?
