New Year Challenge

Starting a new year is quite an interesting process for me personally. One thing that I was blessed with throughout my life was a father who began to instill in me that everything is connected. Decisions you make today, will impact the person you are tomorrow. The hard road is not always the hardest road to take. Make moments count, and love people hard.

My father also did something that I find myself doing all of the time. About once or twice a year I sit down and think about the last six months or the last year. Every New Year’s Eve I sit down and think about the last year. Where was I a year ago? Is there a pattern of growth in life?

This year I did so and am amazed by where God has brought me.

I encourage you to take the time today and see the places in your life where God has brought you through. David would lament to God in his most tremendous trials, and always relied on God for strength. It may seem a little corny, but if you do it, you will see where God has brought you through.

Food for thought: In terms of a New Year’s resolution, make changes that will be significant in your life. Giving up fast few, is a great resolution, but what are you really looking to do with that? For me, it is about getting finances in order this year and becoming more financially disciplined.

Good luck and happy New Year!
