So I am sitting in church on Sunday morning, and I start to notice something very interesting. Right in front of me just to the left there was a woman. This woman was holding her baby. You could tell this was the first child this woman had. She sat there, not paying attention to anything else in the world but that baby. She just stroked the babies little face over and over and over and she smiled. Staring down at her child, she smiled.
I do not have to know anything about this woman. I have seen enough. She loves that child. I never have to hear her talk nor do I need to see her interact with anyone else; she adores her child and nothing will ever change that. Obviously, if you have read any of my blog posts yet, you know where I am going with this post.
I have to wonder, and I have to think that if this woman, looks at her child in this way, how much more loving does God look at us? I mean nothing would deter this woman from her child. She would do anything for this child. It was a profound moment in church. One of the most profound I have ever experienced. From her world, nothing is more important that loving her child. From God’s world, nothing, not even His Son, was more important to Him than His children. Just a thought.
